VIDEO: This Performance Has the Right to Exist, Makunts on 'Huzank and Zangi'
“We can either like or dislike the performance, it may suit our taste or not; it specifically didn’t match my taste, but that doesn’t mean that such an expression of performing arts shouldn’t exist. This performance has the right to exist,” said Lilit Makunts, the leader of the 'My Step' parliamentary faction, responding to 24News’s question about her thoughts on the controversial performance 'Huzank and Zangi'.
Referring to the statement by Armenia's third president Serzh Sargsyan, who said that “if people will rejoice at my arrest, they may arrest me,” Makunts emphasized that the authorities formed in May 2018 has not acted and will not act with the spirit of political persecution. “I don’t know what Mr. Sargsyan is talking about, but what he says is in no way related to the legislative or executive bodies,” Lilit Makunts highlighted.
