Lake Van Continues to Dry Up Rapidly
Turkish NGOs report that Lake Van continues to dry up rapidly. In recent years, the lake's water level has significantly decreased, reaching the lowest levels seen in decades.
Experts attribute the issue to prolonged drought, inefficient use of water resources, and climate change. The lake's water level has changed over the past 17 years, with much of the previously water-covered areas now turned into dry land.
Environmental advocates are urging authorities to take urgent measures to prevent the complete drying up of the lake.
