Health Minister Calls on Parents to Stay Vigilant

The Minister of Health of Armenia, Anahit Avanesyan, has urged parents to remove medicine cabinets and household chemicals from accessible areas for children. The minister addressed parents, highlighting the importance of vigilance.

“Dear mothers, fathers, and grandparents, as soon as you hear my message, please remove your medicine cabinets and toxic substances such as rubbing alcohol, potassium permanganate, and acetone from areas accessible to children. I ask you to take just three minutes today to take a very important step in protecting your children,” she stated.

Avanesyan noted that the causes of childhood illness and mortality have been thoroughly analyzed in the past month to understand the reasons behind the increase.

“We have taken very clear steps, but you also are our allies in this effort. Together, we must protect our children so that no child can access medication or hazardous household substances. I urge you to keep drugs locked away and remove them from areas accessible to children,” the minister emphasized.
