Central Bank Employees Hold Small Crypto Wallets, Says Martin Galstyan

The President of the Central Bank of Armenia, Martin Galstyan, has announced that he personally does not own cryptocurrency assets, but several employees of the Central Bank have opened small wallets to become more informed about the sector.

"This means they are conducting transactions, studying potential risks and opportunities, and afterward we discuss them at the council or executive level. Our Central Bank employees do all of this purely for research purposes, not for profit," Galstyan stated.

He emphasized that significant information has already been accumulated at the Central Bank regarding cryptocurrency assets, which will allow for the development of rational and effective regulations in the sector.

In response to a question about whether there is a shadow in the cryptocurrency market, Galstyan noted that the Central Bank does not conduct such studies.

It is worth reminding that in May of this year, the National Assembly adopted a bill regulating the cryptocurrency sector, which establishes the basic rules for the activities of companies engaged in trading and investments.
