Strong Earthquake Recorded in Russia

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake has struck off the southeastern coast of Kamchatka, with tremors felt in populated areas registering up to 4 magnitude. This information is reported by the Kamchatka branch of the Federal Research Center for Earth Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to seismologists, the earthquake was recorded in the Pacific Ocean at coordinates 52.1475° North latitude and 160.3095° East longitude, approximately 154 kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The hypocenter was located at a depth of 22.3 kilometers.

Preliminary data indicate no casualties or damages; however, experts continue to monitor the situation to assess the potential risk of aftershocks.
