Names of Suspects in the Murder of 23-Year-Old Chechen Woman Aishat Baymurodova in Yerevan Revealed

The Telegram channel "Ostorozhno, Novosti" reports that the identities of possible suspects in the murder case of Chechen Aishat Baymurodova, who was found dead in Yerevan, have been identified. The young woman’s body was discovered at the end of October.

It is noted that on the day of her death, Karina Iminova, a friend of Baymurodova, and 30-year-old Chechen Said-Khamzat Baisarov left the apartment where the body was found. According to reports, Baisarov was accused in 2018 in Russia of financing the terrorist organization "Islamic State," but was acquitted by the court. He has also been involved in cases related to robbery and driving under the influence.

Surveillance footage recorded Iminova and Baisarov at the entrance of the building where Baymurodova's body was discovered. It is suspected that after the alleged murder, they left Armenia and returned to Russia.

According to sources, the investigation is aware of these individuals’ identities; however, they are not officially considered suspects and are not wanted. "This raises concerns that the case may be closed. A murder investigation has been initiated based on witness testimonies and video recordings. Two individuals were recorded at the crime scene, who quickly left, but no wanted notice has been issued against them," the channel quotes human rights defenders from the SК SOS crisis group.

It is reminded that on October 19, the Armenian police announced the discovery of Baymurodova’s body. She had gone missing on October 17, and the Armenian Investigative Committee initiated criminal proceedings regarding her murder.
