Increase in Domestic Violence Cases in Armenia, Reports Arpine Sargsyan

In Armenia, during the first nine months of this year, domestic violence cases have increased by 442 compared to the same period in 2024. This was reported by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, in the National Assembly.

According to the Minister, 2,117 reports of domestic violence have been recorded, whereas in 2024 there were 1,675 cases. 499 warnings have been issued, showing a significant rise in cases.

Furthermore, decisions for urgent intervention have been made in 1,405 cases, compared to 907 in the previous year. Additionally, records have been created for 1,619 perpetrators, up from 1,128 last year,” Sargsyan noted.
