Strong Eruptions Resume on the Sun
After a two-week hiatus, strong eruptions have been recorded again on the Sun. The Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences reports that solar eruptive activity has resumed, reaching an M1.0 level.
“A strong resurgence of eruptive activity on the Sun is being recorded, which was last observed in mid-October and interrupted for two weeks,” the laboratory's message states.
The M1.0 level eruption occurred around 4:00 AM (Moscow time) on the eastern edge of the star. Eruptions of this type are classified into the fourth category of the five-level scale as strong. Scientists remind us that only events of X level are stronger than those at the M level.
According to the predictions of the Institute's specialists, this nighttime eruption signals the onset of a new phase of solar activity, with a peak expected between November 3 and 9. Currently, two powerful centers of activity are moving from the left edge of the Sun towards Earth.
