South Korea Launches Fifth Reconnaissance Satellite

South Korea has announced the successful launch of its fifth reconnaissance satellite, designed to monitor military activities within North Korea's territory. The information was communicated by the Korean Ministry of Defense.
The satellite was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California using the American company SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket. This new launch is considered part of South Korea's developing national satellite system, aimed at enhancing the country's defense capabilities and reducing reliance on allied intelligence data. The previous four satellites were successfully launched between 2023 and 2025.
