Migrant Work Permit Fees in Moscow to Reach Approximately 47,000 AMD

In Moscow, the monthly cost of work permits for migrants is set to increase from 8,900 rubles to 10,000 rubles by 2026. This decision was made during an extraordinary session of the Moscow City Duma.

On October 31, the Economic and Social Policy Committee of the Moscow City Duma discussed a draft law regarding amendments to certain laws within the taxation sphere of the city. One of the key points in the draft is the increase in the cost of work permits for foreign citizens.

“And lastly, regarding the indexation of the permit cost for foreign citizens in 2026... We review the regional coefficient every year to ensure that the permit fee reflects changes in the average salary in Moscow. This year, it is proposed that the regional coefficient be set so that the permit cost increases from 8,900 rubles to 10,000 rubles,” said Darya Murchenkо, Deputy Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Development of Moscow.

According to her, increasing the cost of work permits will help equalize the tax burden on migrants with that of Russian citizens.
