Court Proceedings Against Artsakh Political Leaders Concludes in Baku

On October 31, the Baku court continued its hearings in a fully open session regarding the trumped-up criminal cases against Arayik Harutyunyan, Arkadi Ghukasian, Bako Sahakyan, Davit Ishkhanyan, Davit Babayan, Levon Mnatsakanyan, and other individuals.

According to Azerbaijani media reports, the conclusion of the trial was announced, and both sides did not raise any objections. The presiding judge stated that participants in the proceedings may reference only the evidence examined during the trial in their speeches.

After this, the prosecutors who presented the charges requested the court to grant them time until November 3 to present their arguments. The trial is set to resume on November 3.

It should be recalled that since January 17, Azerbaijan has been conducting the “trial” concerning the former military-political leaders of Artsakh. Among the accused are former presidents Arkadi Ghukasian, Bako Sahakyan, Arayik Harutyunyan, former commander of the defense army Levon Mnatsakanyan, former foreign minister Davit Babayan, and others. The case against former state minister and philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan is being examined separately.
