Tigran Karapetyan Wins European Youth Championship, Narek Grigoryan Takes Silver

The Armenian national team has secured its third gold medal at the European Youth and U23 Championships. In the 71 kg weight category at the European Championship held in Durrës, Albania, Tigran Karapetyan made consecutive lifts of 131 kg, 136 kg, and 145 kg in the snatch, setting a new European record with his final lift. Karapetyan finished first in this event.

In the clean and jerk, he lifted 166 kg, followed by 172 kg and 176 kg, once again setting a new European record and finishing first.

With a total lift of 321 kg, Tigran Karapetyan became the European youth champion.

Narek Grigoryan succeeded in three attempts in the snatch, lifting 131 kg, 136 kg, and 143 kg, which earned him a silver medal in this event. In the clean and jerk, he lifted 166 kg, followed by 175 kg, becoming a new record holder in the European Championship in this category, finishing second as well.

With a total lift of 318 kg, Narek Grigoryan claimed the title of vice champion at the European Youth Championships.
