Messi to Continue Career in Saudi Arabia, AFP Reports

In the upcoming season, Lionel Messi will play in Saudi Arabia, according to Agence France-Presse, as reported by armsport.am. As reported by AFP, citing a source familiar with the negotiations, the deal for the forward's transfer to the Saudi Arabian club is finalized. The Argentine will play in the Middle East from the next season.

The same source described the financial terms of the contract being offered to the player as "huge" (reportedly between €300-400 million). In response to AFP's inquiries, PSG did not comment on this information and simply reminded that Messi's contract is in effect until June 30.

It was previously revealed that Messi has accepted an offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, as reported by El Chiringuito. According to the source, the Argentine has decided to move to the Saudi Pro League. The Al-Hilal squad is also set to be joined by Messi's two former teammates, midfielder Sergio Busquets and defender Jordi Alba. Similar information was earlier reported by another Spanish source, Diario Sport.

According to reports, Messi will earn €400 million annually at Al-Hilal. Meanwhile, French journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi noted that the Arab club has made offers for Busquets and Alba, as well as PSG midfielder Marco Verratti, to persuade Messi to move to Saudi Arabia.
