Saakashvili on the Meeting Between Pashinyan and Aliyev: Peace in the Caucasus Will Not Happen as Long as Russia Intervenes
Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has commented on the recent meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. He noted that this meeting is an important step towards establishing peace in the region.
“A very important meeting between President Aliyev and Prime Minister Pashinyan. The South Caucasus will never restore peace as long as the Russian tentacles are here. The last stronghold in Russia is Ivanishvili's pathological dictatorship,” Saakashvili wrote.
According to him, the struggle for Georgia's democracy and independence is directly linked to the security and stability of the entire South Caucasus. Saakashvili emphasized that the countries in the region must strengthen their cooperation free from external influences.
