We Will Not Allow Russia to Show Us How to Save Armenia: Khandanian

The Chairman of the Foreign Relations Permanent Committee of the National Assembly of Armenia, and a member of the ruling 'Civil Contract' faction, Sargsyan Khandanian, stated today during the 12th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Euronest that Armenia does not need external 'saviors'.

'We will not allow Russia to show us how to save Armenia; we have enough saviors here, the Armenian people do not need saviors from outside Armenia,' Khandanian asserted.

He pointed out that both Moldova and Armenia are experiencing similar patterns of hybrid attacks. In response to the observations of the leader of the 'Honorary' faction, Hayk Mamijanyan, Khandanian assured that there are no political prisoners in Armenia.

'Since 2018, Armenia has not made concessions regarding corruption and threats to sovereignty,' the MP emphasized.

According to Khandanian, a very fragile yet real peace has been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan today, and it is essential to do everything possible to maintain it. He also recalled the issue of individuals held in Azerbaijan and those missing as one of the unresolved problems.

Khandanian added that the unblocking of communications and the implementation of the TRIPP program could not only bring Armenia closer to the European Union but also Central Asia, becoming a crucial guarantee for regional security.
