The Proceedings of HEC Continue: No Issues Recorded During Management, Says Mesropyan

The electricity supply and distribution service has not yet transitioned to public management. By the decision of the Chairman of the Regulatory Commission, a temporary manager has been appointed at the "Armenian Electric Networks" company within the framework of the proceedings. This was announced by the Chairman of the Regulatory Commission, Mesrop Mesropyan, during a joint session of the permanent committees of the National Assembly, responding to a question from Sergey Bagratyan, a member of the "Civil Contract" faction.

Mesrop Mesropyan noted that the process regarding HEC is ongoing, and therefore he did not present details; however, he emphasized that no extraordinary situations have been recorded during management. "During the observed period of these four months, the Regulatory Commission has not recorded any extraordinary situations concerning management, management practices, or technical maintenance. This also reflects the actual picture," he said.

It should be recalled that the National Assembly had previously adopted a bill allowing the government to intervene in the management of HEC to ensure the stability of energy supply in case of high risk of danger. By a decision of the Prime Minister, Romanos Petrosyan, the former head of the State Control Service, has been appointed as the temporary manager of HEC.
