Pope Leo XIV's First Foreign Visit to Turkey

According to Ermenihaber.am, Pope Leo XIV will carry out his first foreign trip to Turkey following his election. The visit is scheduled for the period of November 27-30.

It has been reported that the Pope will meet with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I in Constantinople. The two spiritual leaders will participate together in the event dedicated to the 1700th anniversary of the Nicaea Ecumenical Council.

During the visit, a meeting between Pope Leo XIV and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is also planned in Ankara. After that, he will visit the Sultanahmet Mosque in Istanbul.

Following his time in Turkey, Pope Leo XIV will continue his trip to Lebanon.
