Zelensky Ridicules Putin for Failed Attempt to Take Donbas
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has ridiculed Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with Axios, stating that Putin boasted in private conversations with allies about regaining complete control over Donbas by October 15.
Zelensky noted that this information was gathered from Ukrainian intelligence. He added that despite such ambitions, Russia is unable to execute this plan due to a lack of human and military resources.
“His strong units have been destroyed. The situation on the battlefield has hardly changed over the last two to three months,” Zelensky remarked.
According to the Ukrainian president, Russia has lost approximately 346,000 servicemen this year, counting both dead and wounded, which is nearly equivalent to the number of mobilized troops in the same period. Zelensky emphasized that Moscow’s plans have failed not only due to Ukraine's resistance but also because of Russia's dwindling military capabilities.
