Gas prices for residential subscribers will not increase: PSRC
The gas price for residential subscribers will not increase, and the tariffs for socially vulnerable populations will also be maintained. This was reported today, June 1, by Liana Azizyan, the spokesperson for the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC), in an interview with NEWS.am.
“Gazprom has presented one price for the gas supply, but the classification of groups is carried out by the commission. We have classified that the existing tariff for residential subscribers will remain at 139,000 drams per 1,000 cubic meters, while for socially vulnerable populations, it will remain at 100,000 drams per 1,000 cubic meters,” Azizyan stated.
According to her, based on the submitted calculations, a certain increase in gas prices may occur for those engaged in agricultural activities: “For greenhouses, canned goods, beverages, and dairy products exporters, the gas price will be justified to increase from $212 to $224 per 1,000 cubic meters, whereas Gazprom had suggested raising it to $283.”
For the natural gas sold to thermal power plants, “The tariff for up to 10,000 cubic meters per month should also remain the same at 139,000 drams per 1,000 cubic meters. For consumers exceeding 10,000 cubic meters, a price is proposed to be set at $255.92.”
