Washington Agreements Initiate Major Unblocking Process, Says Mirzoyan
The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan, has announced that the agreements reached in Washington are set to initiate a large-scale unblocking process in the region. He stated that for over three decades, Armenia has been under a blockade, but now the parties are agreeing to open and develop transportation infrastructure.
“If necessary, we can build new roads and railways to ensure mutual connectivity,” Mirzoyan emphasized, adding that the unblocking process is not limited to the Azerbaijan-Nakhchivan connection.
The minister noted that this 'major unblocking' occurring under the agreed principles also includes that direction, but the infrastructures are expected to be operated on equal terms by both Azerbaijan and Armenia. According to Mirzoyan, this is an important step not only for the two countries but also for the entire region, creating new opportunities for economic cooperation and stability.
