Trade with the EU Increased in January-September 2025, Says Papoyan
In the period from January to September 2025, trade between Armenia and the European Union reached $2 billion 9 million, which is a 5.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Last year, the figure was $1.9 billion, indicating an increase of approximately $109 million.
During a joint meeting of the Standing Committees of the National Assembly, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan noted that 76% of trade with the EU consists of imports. He stated that the overall growth is due to a 5.4% increase in imports and a 6.8% increase in exports.
The Minister emphasized that the government continues to implement export support programs aimed at boosting the export of finished products. As a result of these supports, significant growth has been observed, particularly in the industrial production sector.
The main exports from Armenia to the EU include molybdenum, iron alloys, aluminum foil, copper ore, as well as clothing made from fibers and threads. Exports of aluminum foil have increased by 33.5%, while clothing exports have risen by 13.5%.
Conversely, Armenia primarily imports phones, petroleum products, vehicles, and medications from the EU.
