Kiril Dmitriev's Visit to the US a Small but Important Step in Dialogue

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov emphasized that Moscow and Washington continue unofficial communications despite strained relations.

Peskov deemed the visit of Kiril Dmitriev, the special representative of the Russian President, to the United States for investment and economic cooperation discussions as very significant. “This is very important work, but undoubtedly, a great deal of patience is required. This is a small step in a long journey,” Peskov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He noted that unofficial exchanges between Russia and the United States remain a critical component of dialogue, particularly in light of a series of unfriendly actions from Washington.

Peskov stated that such communications contribute to stabilizing the situation and could form the basis for future official negotiations.
