“Ensuring Russia's Security is Vital” - Peskov
The Kremlin spokesman has stated that the tests of the "Burevestnik" missiles are not directed against the US or the West.
Ensuring Russia's security is of vital importance for the country, especially against the backdrop of growing military and anti-Russian sentiment in Europe. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in response to a journalist's question regarding whether the recent tests of the new missiles could be seen as Moscow's response to the heightened economic pressure from the US and the West.
“Ensuring Russia's security is one of our country's main priorities. We are dealing not with a response, but with a defensive necessity,” said Peskov.
According to him, there is nothing in the testing of the "Burevestnik" missiles that could exacerbate relations between Russia and the US. “This is a component of our national security, and the tests are not aimed at any country,” he added.
