Armenia's Territory Has Not Changed Since 1991, Foreign Minister

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, stated that Armenia's territory has not changed since 1991. During a speech at the National Assembly, he emphasized that the territories defined by the law on the administrative-territorial division of the Republic remain unchanged, regardless of the various maps circulating over different periods.

“Armenia remains as it was declared. The difference is that as a result of military operations, certain areas have come under the control of Azerbaijan,” the minister said.

Mirzoyan also noted that there are some Azerbaijani territories currently under the control of the Armed Forces of Armenia. According to him, these issues should be resolved exclusively through peaceful means within the frameworks of delimitation and demarcation processes.

“Our position is that the legal owners should be returned to their territories without any new military operations,” the Foreign Minister emphasized.
