Casualties Reported After Oil Pipeline Explosion in Iraq

At least two workers have died following a fire that broke out at the Zubair oil field in Iraq due to an oil pipeline explosion, as reported by Reuters.

"The incident has not affected oil flows, which currently stand at a capacity of 400,000 barrels per day," representatives from the oil refining companies have stated.

According to officials, the fire ignited while a group of workers was conducting welding operations near the pipeline. Firefighters battled the flames in the section directing crude oil from Zubair to nearby storage facilities.

Officials have reported that five of the injured workers suffered severe burns and are in critical condition, raising concerns that the death toll may continue to rise.
