Not Bad Writing, But No Denial Either: I Am Not, But I Am, But I Am Not – Hayk Martirosyan
Political scientist Hayk Martirosyan wrote on Facebook: “Archbishop Arshak responded with a statement: Not bad writing. But no denial either. He did it in a style that is immensely Armenian. Only Armenian. Exclusively Armenian. As if to say, I will disregard, I am not, but I am, but I am not. But I disregard, blah, blah, blah ... And so on.
Despite this, he chose the least bad literary genre among all possible bad options. At the same time, after disseminating this statement, Archbishop Arshak was obliged to resign. By saying something like, ‘I am not the actor of a movie, but since I am accused and the church is targeted through me, I will step down to protect the church from being harmed by my targeting and to keep it intact.’ This is how those who find themselves in such situations act in normal, civilized societies. Both sides deserve each other. The church also deserves it, which actually no longer exists.
It is necessary to regain our senses, if you haven’t come to your senses and gathered your wits. But you are unable to do this. Everyone is incapable.”
