You Make Empty, Groundless Statements: Arthur Hovhannisyan
In general, the political discourse and intensity in the National Assembly is mainly ensured by the opposition, and when I recall what was happening in the National Assembly before 2018, if the opposition had been like yours back then, a disgrace would have occurred. This was stated from the podium of the National Assembly by Arthur Hovhannisyan, the secretary of the "Civil Contract" faction, addressing his opposition colleagues.
According to him, the opposition at that time generated the main topics of discussion. Hovhannisyan accused the opposition of having no substantive discourse.
"You are making empty, groundless statements, spreading lies and falsehoods. How can discussions in the National Assembly be serious, particularly when it comes to the opposition, when a representative of the opposition can come here and say, for example, that the Church of Voskepar has been given or will be given to Azerbaijan? No apology follows this. Another one comes and says that the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial is being destroyed. It turns out that such a thing does not exist and, of course, it could not exist. No apology follows this," Hovhannisyan announced. He stated that how can citizens not be outraged by these discussions, which should be substantive and aimed at serving the interests of citizens.
