With Your Signatures, You De Facto Said: Artsakh is Azerbaijan. Haik Konjoryan
This statement encapsulates the entire deception of your power for decades. If the issue of Artsakh was realistically resolved, why continue the negotiations? This was stated by Haik Konjoryan, the leader of the "Civil Contract" faction, during the National Assembly meeting on October 24, responding to the remarks of Seyran Ohanyan, the leader of the "Armenia" faction, who claimed that the issue of Artsakh was resolved, but negotiations should continue.
"Even in the negotiations, it was agreed that together with Azerbaijan, they would determine the future referendum issue. That is, Azerbaijan, which you claim has nothing to do with Artsakh, should agree on whether we hold a referendum in Artsakh or not, when we do it, or when we don’t. If it had nothing to do with it, how were you coordinating with each other? With your signatures, you de facto said that Artsakh is Azerbaijan. De facto, that’s what you stated with your signatures... After all, you have deceived the people for decades, you have misled the people and now you come and talk about lies, manipulations," he stated.
Addressing another criticism from the opposition that they are the counterbalance to the government, Konjoryan affirmed, "Yes, we are your counterbalance. You are our counterbalance because we want to achieve peace, while you want to achieve war. We talk about the future, you talk about the past. We say Armenia must have a border, you say Armenia must not have a border. You say either death or freedom, and then you keep the freedom for yourself while giving death to the people. We say life and freedom, and both belong to the people. Yes, here, we are indeed a counterbalance."
