Who Needs Davit Hambarzumyan Politically: Alen Simonyan

In a conversation with reporters, National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan addressed the claim that the Mayor of Masis community, Davit Hambarzumyan, is being subjected to political persecution. He also referred to his earlier question regarding why the Republican Party nominated Hambarzumyan for the position of Prime Minister: "Serzh Sargsyan imagines himself as a chess player, but he plays chess on a backgammon level. Everything becomes clear only one step later. Hambarzumyan's candidacy has been put forward so that he can be presented as a political prisoner now," said Simonyan.

It is noteworthy that Davit Hambarzumyan has been sentenced to 6 years and 3 months of imprisonment, but he is currently not in the country. Recently, a statement from Hambarzumyan was disseminated, in which he announced his intention to continue the struggle.

According to Alen Simonyan, Davit Hambarzumyan is not subject to political persecution: "Who needs Davit Hambarzumyan politically?" Simonyan added, considering the impeachment process a fundamentally failed initiative.
