Home Arrest Imposed on Editor of Sputnik Azerbaijan

The editor-in-chief of Sputnik Azerbaijan, Yevgeny Belousov, is under home arrest, reports Vesti.az, citing local Telegram channels.

The Baku Khatai District Court reviewed the petition and granted it, changing Belousov's initial detention status.

The agency's executive director, Igor Kartavikh, had previously been released from detention and later left Azerbaijan for Russia.

Igor Kartavikh and other employees of Sputnik Azerbaijan were detained in late June 2025. They are facing criminal charges related to fraud, illegal entrepreneurship, and money laundering.
