Pressure on Russia Provides Opportunity for Peace, Zelensky Says

There is a possibility to cease the military conflict in Ukraine against the backdrop of sanctions imposed on Russia by the U.S. and the EU. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on his Telegram channel.

“Now is the time when there is an opportunity to stop the war and hold Russia accountable. To achieve this, we must continue to strengthen the pressure on Russia, increase the support for Ukraine, and finalize the development of security guarantees,” he emphasized.

After a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, he noted that Ukraine's main priority is to strengthen its air defense.

On October 23, the European Union officially confirmed a new, 19th package of sanctions against Russia. The restrictions also targeted oil refining facilities in third countries, mainly Chinese and Indian companies that cooperate with Russia in the oil refining and energy trade sectors.
