Galjyan: Go Ahead, Ask if You're Taking Bribes
When discussing the issues of Gyumri, keep in mind that you chose Vardan Ghukasyan, who has been the mayor for 13 years.
This was stated by the leader of the My Step faction in the Yerevan City Council, Armen Galjyan, in response to Manuk Sukiasyan, a member of the Mother Armenia faction.
“Go ahead, as you like to say, ‘catch him by the ear,’ and ask, ‘What are you doing, are you taking bribes for illegal constructions?’ You come to Yerevan and talk about some corrupt phenomena,” Armen Galjyan said.
“Every two months, someone is arrested in the community hall. If we are not fighting against corruption, then what are these arrests for?” he added, noting that when a similar incident happens in Gyumri, they say it’s political persecution, while the recordings speak of facts.
