The Homeland is Heading Towards Self-Destruction, We Must Put an End to This: Aram I

The Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, Aram I, has declared that the homeland is heading towards self-destruction, while the diaspora is facing self-dissolution. This situation must be addressed with pan-Armenian efforts.

“We must put an end to this with pan-Armenian forces. Indeed, we are living at a crossroads in our history. In this situation, we need new leaders, new approaches, and a new stance to emerge from the current stagnant state. We cannot move forward with repetitions, particularly during these times full of daily changes. We cannot live in a self-centered and self-serving manner; we must open our eyes and see where our people and homeland are heading,” he said.

According to the Catholicos, geographical conditions are changing, and today there is a need for the youth to bring in fresh perspectives, as they are the ones who understand the current world. He emphasized that a significant place should be given to young people, trusting them because they will be shaping the future of the Armenian people.

“When the same individuals sit in the same chairs, confined by the same mindset, the chair becomes worn out, as do those who sit upon it,” Aram I highlighted.
