If We Attempt to Use Administrative Resources in Elections, We Will Lose: Prime Minister
If we attempt to use administrative resources in elections, whether we want to or not, we will lose those elections. This has been and remains my conviction.
This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a response to a question from Zaruhi Batoyan, a member of the My Step faction, in the National Assembly.
“It is strange that we can discuss this topic. Did we conduct a revolution in Armenia by applying administrative resources? How can any political force abandon its success story and think that the success stories of Serge and Robert are more interesting? That is suicide for that political force and for that politician. This is my conviction. Wherever we think in that logic, even if we do not act, we will undoubtedly lose. I have no doubt. Where we remain within the scope of our values, we will definitely win. The proof is the 2021 parliamentary elections, which were assessed by the entire international community as free and competitive, and so on.
Or, if they suspect us of using political technology. Wherever we try to apply political technology, we will lose, because our political technology is emotion, the organic connection with the people, and the love for the people and our country. What technology, what shall we use with technology, and what result will we achieve? There is much discussion about PR; everyone knows this term. PR is public relations. This means communicating with the public and finding new ways or opportunities for communication with the public, and so on. If that communication is not sincere and lacks substance, no amount of technology will save anyone. It did not save some in 2018, did not help in 2021, and will not help us from now on because politics cannot exist without substance,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
