Ghukasian Belongs in Prison, Says Alen Simonian

“Was Vardan Ghukasian a saint? Hadn’t he done anything wrong? Four months before the Prime Minister's statement, I had already said that this person's place is in prison. If we hadn't said anything about him, would anyone have known?” stated the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, during a press briefing, addressing the detention of the Mayor of Gyumri.

He emphasized that the “Civil Contract” party received the most votes in Gyumri. “Go and protect the voice of the people. They have united with 3-4 parties, elected a mayor, and let them elect again,” he stressed, reiterating that in his opinion, Ghukasian belongs in prison.
