Complex Challenges Ahead: Disarming Hamas and Rebuilding Gaza
The U.S. Vice President Jay Di Vance has held discussions in Jerusalem with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, reports Times of Israel.
Standing next to U.S. Vice President Jay Di Vance, Netanyahu praised the "unparalleled alliance and partnership with the United States." He stated, "This changes the Middle East and changes the world. It creates opportunities not just for security but for peace, which we are working very, very hard for."
Netanyahu told Vance that he was impressed by "your clarity, your insight, the solidarity you've shown in our common cause, and the genuine friendship I have seen in both the conferences and our personal meetings."
In turn, Vance spoke about the "critical days" related to the ceasefire in Gaza. "These are critical days, and we are very happy to have the opportunity to sit at the negotiating table and work together on the Gaza peace plan. We face a very, very complex challenge, which lies in disarming Hamas, rebuilding Gaza, improving the lives of people in Gaza, and also ensuring that Hamas no longer poses a threat to our friends in Israel," said the U.S. Vice President.
