New Group of Red Berets Arrives at Gyumri Municipality

A tense situation has developed near the Gyumri municipality. Present at the scene are the Deputy Chief of Police, the Chief of the Community Police Department Karen Hakobyan, the Deputy Chief of Police, the Chief of the Criminal Police Department Vardan Vardanyan, and the Deputy Chief of Police, the Head of the Patrol Service Arthur Khudinyan.

Earlier, it was reported that law enforcement officials stormed the Gyumri municipality in the morning, attempting to detain the mayor Vardan Ghukasyan, who has isolated himself in his office. According to the Anti-Corruption Committee, eight individuals have been arrested on charges of accepting large bribes from a group of officials.

A significant police presence has been deployed near the municipality, and hundreds of Gyumri residents have gathered to prevent the arrest and removal of Vardan Ghukasyan from the building. There are regular scuffles between the police and the citizens. A new group of red berets has arrived near the municipality. The citizens are chanting, "Shame!"
