US Discontent with Trade Terms with China

The trade terms between the US and China are unfair. Beijing has been deceiving Washington for years, said US President Donald Trump in an interview with Fox News.

"They are always looking for profit. You know, they have cheated us for years," Trump stated during the interview while answering a question about why the US has imposed 157 tariffs on China.

He noted that he is preparing to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in two weeks. He clarified that he does not intend to 'destroy China' and that the meeting will determine how trade relations between the two countries will develop.

On October 11, the US President announced that from November 1, a 100% tariff will be imposed on all imported goods from China, in addition to the already existing tariffs. Trump also announced controls on the export of "significant software programs." These measures are presented as a response to China's "extremely aggressive stance" on trade.
