Playing 'anti-Russian' should not be associated with anti-national content: Ashotyan

Vice President of the NGO Armen Ashotyan wrote on his Facebook page:

  1. No EU country, no matter how much it 'welcomes' Nikol's regional policy, will ever treat its national interests as casually as Pashinyan does.
  2. If Nikol so desperately needed to play 'anti-Russian' in the West, there was absolutely no need to couple it with anti-national, anti-Armenian content.
  3. For Nikol, 'pro-Westernism' is merely a façade to disguise his aggressive Turkophile tendencies.
  4. They will welcome us at Brussels’ 'airport', but there will be no green light for a 'landing' in the visible horizon and beyond.
  5. European elites will continue to play with Nikol, but they will be afraid to even hint at the possibility of the EU's membership for Armenia in front of their societies due to significant vote losses on the unpopular topic of enlargement.
  6. He indiscriminately labels all his political opponents in the West as 'Kremlin agents' to justify widespread repressions.
  7. If the issue reaches the elections in 2026, then Nikol will already attempt to brand them as 'geopolitical' when removing him is not a geopolitical, but a national issue.
  8. With the right actions both in the world and in the EU, we will gain understanding and support.
  9. Nikol’s governance harms the Armenian people, therefore his removal is in the interests and obligations of the Armenian people.
  10. One of the key issues for the opposition is presenting this truth abroad.
