Hysteria Speaks of One Thing: The Message of the Rally Has Reached Its Destination - Kristine Vardanyan
Opposition MP Kristine Vardanyan writes: "It turns out that the only issue the ruling party has regarding yesterday's massive rally demanding the release of political prisoners is that there was a typo on one of the dozens, if not hundreds, of posters prepared by the citizens. And now the ruling party members, without taking turns, you can't even tell if they're mocking the citizens, calming themselves, or conducting group therapy.
Of course, the behavior of those who have created crises in all sectors of the country is absurd. The feeling of absurdity intensifies when you remember the speeches of their leader from international platforms, or Facebook publications, or for example when presenting Artashat as the center of Armavir region, when you see that one of the mockers cannot distinguish between the Haghartsin Monastery and the Gosht Monastery, or when you recall Arthur Hovhannisyan, who threatens to cut off people's ears and tongues. When you remember the last session of the National Assembly, where ignorance triumphed and there was a campaign against those with higher education, claiming that it is not necessary for those in responsible positions to have a higher education.
But this hysteria speaks of one thing: the message of yesterday's rally has reached its destination. They also need to understand what to respond to, as they are no longer even disputing that the prisons are filled with dozens of political prisoners and that any opposition figure is subject to illegal persecution. Instead, they focus on a typo on a poster, the songs sung from the stage that they dislike, the large crowd, and complaints about the cleanliness of the entrance.
It is not good; pass a law stating that any opposition rally's agenda and posters must be approved by the ruling party's board meeting. In reality, the message of yesterday's rally was very simple: injustices and attacks on the church foster resistance and unite many. It's not just about some poster, but rather this idea has shaken the souls of the ruling party members.
So, on this occasion, we can congratulate both the organizers of the rally and the entire opposition field," she wrote.
