External Heavy Threats Combine with Internal Divisions: Garegin II
“We believe that with God's help we can restore justice, and that our unlawfully imprisoned children, brothers, and sisters will be released.” This was stated today by Catholicos Garegin II during a speech in front of pilgrims organized by the "In Our Way" movement at the Mother Cathedral of Echmiadzin.
“Our homeland is facing serious challenges; heavy external threats coincide with the distortion of national values and perceptions of identity, coupled with internal divisions that are deepened by the sowing of intolerance and hatred,” said the Supreme Patriarch.
He added, “Our hearts are heavy seeing how, by political decision and through false and fabricated accusations, the sacred figures Mikayel, Bagrat, and Mkrtich, as well as Mr. Samvel Karapetyan, have been imprisoned. May the Lord grant them good health and prosperous years in life. Our call to our faithful children is to remain steadfast, not to weaken, and not to falter in the face of the difficulties and trials we are facing.”
