Turkey Hopes to Resume Ukraine Negotiations in Istanbul: Fidan
Turkey is ready to provide any support for Ukraine's peace process. Ankara maintains connections at all levels. This was stated by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The minister recalled the three phases of negotiations that took place in Istanbul between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine, noting the composition of the delegations, which included both military and diplomatic representatives.
“We are again ready to provide any support for this process. We continue to communicate at all levels. I am optimistic that, by God's will, both sides will reach a resolution by the end of the year,” Fidan said.
Turkey hopes to resume negotiations over Ukraine in Istanbul, but has not yet received any signals, a Turkish diplomatic source told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.
Russia and Ukraine have held three phases of direct negotiations, which took place in Istanbul. As a result, prisoners were exchanged. Russia also handed over the bodies of fallen Ukrainian servicemen to Kyiv. Furthermore, the sides exchanged draft memoranda regarding the resolution of the conflict.
