How Much Pension Do Former Presidents and MPs of Armenia Receive?
In the first nine months of 2025, approximately 31 million 450 thousand AMD has been allocated from the state budget for the pensions of former presidents of Armenia. Currently, three former presidents are receiving pensions. According to data provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, each of them receives a monthly pension of 1 million 164 thousand 800 AMD. This was reported by Hetq.
The Law on the Provision of Activities, Services, and Social Guarantees for Officials stipulates that a special pension is assigned to a former president, except in cases of dismissal, which is set at 70 percent of the salary rate stipulated by law for the office of President of the Republic.
Among former members of the National Assembly, 189 are currently receiving pensions. According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the average monthly pension for deputies is about 190 thousand AMD. The lowest pension for deputies is 157 thousand AMD. It should be noted that the minimum pension set in Armenia is 36 thousand AMD.
