“Do not confuse. Those forcing clergy to attend rallies with their families are holy,” wrote Vahagn Aleksanyan, a member of the Civil Contract faction.

“Those opposing them are participants in an anti-church campaign,” he noted.

Recall that a recording of a conversation from October 2023 between Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan and former staff of Karekin II, Father Aghan Yerjnakan, surfaced online. In the recording, Father Aghan mentions that Karekin II has forced clergy to participate in anti-government protests, which some clergy members have rebelled against.
