National Progress Party Withdraws Candidacy
In the elections of the Vagarshapat community, 8 political forces have registered. The National Progress Party has announced its withdrawal from the electoral race.
The number 14 Territorial Electoral Commission registered the political forces nominated in the proportional representation elections for the Vagarshapat Community during an extraordinary session on October 17. Prior to the registration, the commission accepted the application for withdrawal submitted by the National Progress Party.
Following this, the commission proceeded to register the applications of the other political forces that had submitted their nomination documents.
The following political forces have been registered for the Vagarshapat Community Council elections: the Homeland Party, the Victory Party Alliance consisting of the Ahead Party and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, the Civil Contract Party, the Freedom Democrats Party, the Mother Armenia Party, the Heritage Party, the Republic Party, and the All-Armenian Front Party.
The Central Electoral Commission will allocate sequential numbers to the registered parties and alliances during its extraordinary session on October 18, based on the results of the lottery conducted by the authorized representatives of the registered parties.
It is worth noting that the National Progress Party was previously led by the former Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan.
