How Long Foreign-Plated Cars Can Be Used in Armenia: IRS
How long can a foreign citizen operate a car with foreign license plates in Armenia? This was announced today by the State Revenue Committee.
"If your personal vehicle is registered in a third country, meaning any foreign country, according to Article 264 of the EAEU Customs Code, you can temporarily import the vehicle into the EAEU customs territory, including the territory of Armenia, for up to one year," the announcement states.
The IRS notes that this procedure applies to both individuals with foreign citizenship and citizens of EAEU member states, including Armenian citizens.
Citizens of EAEU member states and Armenian citizens will only be able to temporarily import their vehicles if they provide a monetary guarantee for customs duties and tax obligations during customs clearance, meaning they must leave a deposit.
