Shahan the Bishop Raises Concern Over Arrests of Clergy

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Archbishop Shahan Sargsyan. The Archbishop presented the Prime Minister with a publication commemorating the 30th anniversary of the enthronement of Catholicos Aram I on behalf of His Holiness. He also conveyed warm greetings and blessings from Catholicos Aram I.

In addition to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Shahan the Bishop handed over a specially illustrated volume to former President Levon Ter-Petrosyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Speaker of the National Assembly, as stated in a statement from the Catholicosate of Cilicia.

In the coming days, copies of the publication will also be delivered to Karekin II, Robert Kocharian, and Serzh Sargsyan.

During the meeting with Pashinyan, Bishop Shahan expressed his concern about the current situation and emphasized the importance of state-church cooperation, raising the issue of the arrests of clergy and underscoring the need for finding necessary solutions in this regard.
