Azerbaijan to Cut Defense and National Security Spending
Until 2030, the Azerbaijani government plans to reduce budgetary expenditures on defense and national security to 7.969 billion manats (approximately 4.7 billion dollars), according to reports from Interfax.
As per the mid-term budget data published on the Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance’s website, expenditures for these purposes are projected to amount to 8.715 billion manats (5.12 billion USD) in 2026. In that year, defense spending will account for 20.9% of the overall state budget expenditures. By 2029, this share is expected to decrease to 18.4%.
