Silence Becomes an Unbearable Burden: Shahe Ananian
The Director of the Department of Inter-Church Relations of the Mother See, the Honorable Father Shahe Ananian, has spoken out about the arrests of clergymen.
“The scenario of Stalinist tyranny is entering its final act. The recent events in the Aragatsotn Diocese, the forced disappearance of clergymen and leaders, the alarm raised by human rights defenders, and professional evaluations indicate that we are living in an authoritarian reality again.
In such societies, besides killing the body, efforts are made to kill the soul. Therefore, everything must be done to ensure that the soul is not extinguished. We must firmly stand in the trenches that protect our souls with spiritual awareness and unwavering faith.
Silence is becoming an unbearable burden. Remaining silent and watching quietly can kill our souls…”
