Search Operation Underway at St. Mary Church of Ashtarak

As reported, the Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan of the Aragatsotn Diocese and five priests from the diocese have been detained and taken to the Investigative Committee. The reasons for the arrests are still unknown. Currently, a search operation is underway at the episcopal residence and at the St. Mary Church in Ashtarak, according to media reports.

Lawyer Ara Zohrapyan has stated that several civilians have also been arrested.

According to 24News, the arrests were carried out based on a report from the priest of Hovhanavank, Father Aram.

It is noteworthy that the detained priests include Father P'aren, Father Manuk, Father Hayk, Father Mkrtich, and Father Ghevond.
